Description Strategic Leadership & Program Oversight • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of corporate-wide EH&S systems, ensuring alignment with ISO 14001 standards, OSHA, EPA, ATF, DOT, and DOD requirements. •Maintain explosive guidelines under the ATF requirements for Explosive Materials. • Partner with senior management and plant leadership to integrate EH&S principles into daily operations and long-term business planning. • Serve as the corporate liaison for all regulatory agencies and external auditors, ensuring consistent representation and compliance across sites. Safety Management • Oversee hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation processes for all operations, systems, and equipment. • Conduct comprehensive safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations; analyze data trends to identify and eliminate root causes. • Ensure compliance with the Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200), including SDS management, labeling, employee training, and customer documentation. • Lead emergency response planning, fire protection activities, and employee safety engagement programs, ensuring readiness across all global locations. • Maintain proper storage of explosive materials and overall management of the ATF guidelines regarding explosive materials to include ensuring all employees are submitted as Employee Possessors or Responsible Party. Environmental Compliance • Manage environmental permitting, reporting, and monitoring for air, water, and waste programs; ensure compliance with all applicable environmental laws. • Oversee hazardous waste disposal, recycling, stormwater control, and chemical inventory management. • Maintain ISO 14001 certification, lead audits, and coordinate corrective actions and management reviews. Training & Culture Development • Design and deliver EH&S training programs for employees and managers, promoting awareness, accountability, and proactive participation in safety initiatives. • Drive continuous improvement through behavioral-based safety programs, safety committees, and cross-functional communication. • Coach and mentor site EH&S leaders to ensure consistent program execution and regulatory understanding globally. Global Management • Provide leadership and indirect management for 4–6 EH&S Managers across ARC’s global facilities in China, North Macedonia, Thailand, and Tennessee. • Standardize corporate EH&S policies and KPIs, fostering global alignment and sharing best practices across sites Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS*: Requires a bachelor’s degree in Safety, Mechanical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering, and six (6) to eight (8) years of experience preferably in a chemical, explosive, or manufacturing environment or any combination of education and experience that provides the required skills and knowledge to do the job. Highly prefer explosive background and experience with the ATF guidelines. Must be ISO 14001 certified. WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work will take place in a combination office/shop environment. Employee may be required to work weekends, holidays, and be on-call on occasion. While performing the duties of this job, employees may be exposed to mechanical or chemical processes requiring the use of personnel protective equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to work weekends, holidays, or be on call. Overnight travel is required as necessary.
