Client Profile- Indiana based company offering services in the areas of hauling, waste and compactor rentals. Job Summary- EHS Manager is responsible for managing and driving company environment, health and safety compliance and management functions and activities. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who enjoys daily involvement with company administrative and compliance operations while heading up the Responsibilities Drive and lead safety culture initiatives throughout all facilities Ensure that federal, state and local laws, regulations and rules are observed; OSHA Regulations and reporting requirements Ensure facility compliance with EHS regulations, hazardous material, environment/air permits and is primary liaison with government agencies and inspectors. Ensure ongoing compliance of driver records (i.e. driver’s license, medical certification, etc.) Coordinate required training and maintain training completion records. Conduct accident investigations; ensure all vehicles are properly licensed and required documentation remains on each vehicle. Maintain required manual and electronic records for internal and external compliance reporting. Partner with leadership to contribute to development and maintenance of safety policies and procedures. Use professional judgement to make corrective action recommendations Manage workers compensation claims Develop and implement site emergency response plans and serve as the emergency coordinator for events Interpret existing and proposed changes regarding occupational health, safety and environment regulations Perform other duties as required Qualifications College degree preferred; High School/GED required Five plus years related safety experience preferred; environment, health and safety field a plus Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA rules and regulations Ability to exercise sound judgement in order to balance job demands and meet objectives Organized, detail oriented, dependable, self-starter with high integrity Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Starting salary $60,000 to $80,000; competitive company incentives
