Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Intern Location: Telford Department: Environmental, Health & Safety Reports To: EHS Specialist  Duration: Internship (e.g., Summer / 3–12 months) Position Summary The EHS Intern supports the Environmental, Health & Safety team in promoting a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace. This role provides hands-on experience in regulatory compliance, risk assessment, safety programs, and environmental initiatives while assisting with day-to-day EHS operations. Key Responsibilities * Assist in implementing and maintaining EHS policies, procedures, and programs * Support compliance with local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations * Participate in workplace safety inspections and hazard identification activities * Help track and analyze safety metrics, incident reports, and near-miss data * Assist in incident investigations and root cause analysis * Support training initiatives, including; preparing materials, delivering in a hands-on format, and tracking progress and completion. * Maintain EHS documentation, records, and reports for audits and compliance reviews * Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to workplace safety and environmental by utilizing technology and/or developing efficient digital processes * Assist with emergency preparedness planning and drills * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a strong safety culture Learning Objectives * Gain practical experience in occupational health and safety practices * Understand regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA standards or local equivalents) * Develop skills in risk assessment, data analysis, and reporting * Learn how EHS programs are implemented in a manufacturing/industrial environment Qualifications Required * Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, Engineering or related field * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills * Good communication and interpersonal skills * Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) * Ability to read and comprehend complex material, perform basic measurement tasks and mathematical equations Preferred * Basic knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards * Interest in manufacturing or industrial environments * Experience with data analysis or reporting tools Working Conditions * Exposure to manufacturing or operational environments * Combination of office and shop-floor activities * May require use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Key Competencies * Safety-first mindset * Analytical thinking * Initiative and willingness to learn * Team collaboration * Independent work motivation * Problem-solving skills Physical Requirements * Ability to walk production floors and conduct inspections * Occasional lifting or movement of materials (within safe limits) How to Success in This Role * Be proactive in identifying safety improvements * Engage with employees at all levels to promote safety awareness * Take ownership of assigned projects and follow through * Maintain a positive attitude in a dynamic work environment * Actively communicate, schedule, prioritize tasks, and follow through with projects
