Description Position Overview This role will help support the development and implementation of safety programs designed to reduce risk and maintain a clean, safe, and healthy work environment. Help ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements, provide training, and monitor day-to-day operations to protect employee well-being and foster a strong safety culture. Essential Job Duties Assist with the implementation of accident prevention programs in distribution, transportation, and other divisions. Monitor and enforce compliance with OSHA standards, including PSM, LOTO, HAZCOM, and PIT. Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits, and safety observations to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions. Support and deliver employee safety training, toolbox talks, and skill-building sessions. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, prepare reports, and recommend corrective measures. Track and maintain safety metrics, incident data, and compliance records for reporting. Facilitate education programs for employees on safe work practices, hazard recognition, and accident prevention through meetings and daily engagement. Support fleet and driver safety programs, ensuring compliance with DOT and state regulations. Collaborate with plant operations teams and supervisors to integrate safety into daily workflows. Participate in emergency response planning and drills, train employees on fire, hazardous material, and medical response procedures. Assist with workers’ compensation claims management and follow-up. Promote recognition programs (such as safe driving awards) to encourage ongoing employee engagement in safety. Requirements Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, and state safety regulations. Familiarity with workers’ compensation practices and reporting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence safe behaviors. Solid organizational skills to manage training, inspections, and compliance records. Understanding of ergonomics and behavior-based safety principles.
