You would be working as part of an energetic and vibrant team, where there is plenty of support from your peers. What’s more, once you are trained and you feel confident, you will also have the opportunity to conduct inspections solo with clients.
You will visit food establishments and work with clients to ensure food establishments are compliant with regulation, making a positive impact on the environment?

JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the Senior Inspector, you will be an important member of the Trade Effluent Licensing Inspection Services (TELIS) Team.

· Hands-On Site Visits: Visit clients to check how they handle fats, oils, and grease (FOG)—just like the systems you’re already familiar with in the food establishments you have worked in. You will be fully trained by us, on legislation and regulations governing Trade Effluent, Discharge Licences, inspections for food service establishments (FSE) for their management of fats, oils and greases (FOG).

  • Clear Communication: Write up reports if something’s not up to standard or there is a suspected breach in legislation with attention to reporting with timelines, quality and accuracy. Think of it like flagging a health & safety issue—only now, you’re the one in charge.
  • Sample Collection: Take samples of water or waste and complete basic paperwork—no science degree needed, just a careful approach and willingness to learn.
  • Work With People: Build solid working relationships with clients and their teams—just like keeping things running smoothly during a busy shift.
  • Team Support: Help your manager plan and meet team goals, much like hitting daily sales or cleanliness targets.
  • Variety in Your Role: From time to time, you might get the chance to support other teams—perfect for someone who likes to stay active and involved.
