Overview ABOUT THE POSITION VHB’s Providence, RI office is looking for an Environmental Intern to join our team for the Summer of 2026. This internship may assist with our Water Resources, Site Investigation and Remediation, and Natural Resources teams. Responsibilities Conduct a wide array of water resources related studies and analysis including: Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of stormwater systems, analysis and design of conveyance systems, design of stormwater management facilities, coastal impacts, and floodplain analysis Conduct data collection and field work Analysis of impaired watersheds and identification of potential areas for stormwater treatment Support projects related to stormwater permitting compliance for municipal, industrial and transportation clients Wetland delineations Threatened and endangered species surveys Plant identification and vegetation inventory Skills and Attributes Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to independently manage multiple tasks and interact appropriately and positively with teammates Willingness to support different engineering disciplines Self-motivated with attention to detail Good time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines Qualifications Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, environmental science or related field VHB does not provide housing for internships.
