REQUIREMENTS

3rd level qualification in a Science discipline.
Min of 3 yrs previous working experience, a distinct advantage
Fluent English speaker
Valid working permit - essential
Good IT Skills, with working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, One Drive.
Knowledge of ISO 17025 & 9001 desirable

Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF ROLE

This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to work in a fast-paced Environmental Laboratory. Key purpose is to support the Environmental department by carrying out routine chemical tests on Domestic, Wastewater and Process Water samples, as well as providing laboratory support to our off-site team.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in the Environment Laboratory with testing of samples, recording, and reporting of results, in an efficient manner according to existing procedures and ISO standards.
Perform daily checks and calibrations of laboratory equipment.
Develop and update in-house laboratory procedures as appropriate.
Work according to the central Lab Quality Management system and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and 17025 quality standards.
Actively participate in internal audits and safety lab walkthrough.
Environmental Testing will include Wet chemistry, UV-Vis Spectrophotometry, etc.
Able to conduct a wide range of tests across Commercial and Domestic Water samples
Identify and make recommendations for improvements as part of the team within or outside the department to ensure continuous improvement.
Maintain accurate laboratory records and paperwork in accordance with documented procedures.
Maintain high standard of housekeeping and hygiene within the laboratory.
Support all other on-going laboratory functions and requirements.
Assist in the development of new test methods
Support and comply with safety and compliance initiatives on site.
Have a proactive approach to assisting in the development of the laboratory and SOPs in preparation for external third party and / or customer audits and play an active role in such audits.
Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
