Job Description Why You’ll Love This Role As an Environmental Monitoring Supervisor, you will lead second-shift lab operations with a focus on environmental monitoring (EM) and microbiology. You’ll ensure GMP compliance, oversee sampling programs, and manage a skilled team, all while fostering a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on microbiology expertise who enjoys mentoring and driving operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Environmental Monitoring & Microbiology Lead EM sampling and monitoring in controlled environments, including cleanrooms, water systems, and compressed gases. Conduct microbial identification and testing of commercially prepared culture media. Maintain and analyze EM and microbiology productivity databases; generate monthly metrics and trend reports. Investigate deviations, prepare detailed reports, and implement corrective actions. Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and documentation for lab equipment. Review and verify EM and microbiology data for accuracy and compliance with quality standards. Utilize LIMS for sample tracking, test results, and reporting metrics. Leadership & Operational Oversight Supervise, coach, and mentor microbiology and EM analysts, promoting quality and professional development. Manage onboarding, training, and ongoing development of team members. Coordinate scheduling, task allocation, and overtime for second-shift operations. Apply Lean principles to improve lab workflows and efficiency. Serve as the key liaison between internal teams and external clients, ensuring timely communication and project completion. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Life Sciences, or a related field. 3+ years of microbiology and environmental monitoring experience in a GMP-regulated lab. 3+ years of experience supervising technical or laboratory teams. Strong knowledge of EM protocols, microbiology testing, and lab compliance standards. Proven ability to coach staff, manage operations, and drive team performance. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction or sponsorship.
