We are currently seeking an Project Manager to join our Monitoring team in Concord, ON!

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • University or accredited college degree in geology, hydrogeology, earth science, ecology, biologist, environmental science, or related field
  • Relevant field work experience in construction, civil/mechanical engineering, water/wastewater technology, environmental compliance or related fields.
  • Effective trouble-shooting skills resolving technical issues
  • Organized and self-motivated individual with initiative and attention to detail.
  • Outgoing, friendly, team-player
  • Tech-savvy with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to client satisfaction and the delivery of high-quality work product
  • Valid driver’s license

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Concord, ON L4K 3M

Responsibilities
  • Perform all functions as the Primary Representative in the supply of GEMS environmental services.
  • Track open opportunities for all GEMS services and follow up on submitted bids and proposals.
  • Review contract documents and technical reports defining scope of work and preparing take-offs for pricing in consultation with Directors (Hydrogeology, Geotechnical & Instrumentation).
  • Managing project scopes of work that include Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC), Soil and Groundwater monitoring, Air Quality monitoring, Noise and Vibration monitoring, and other environmental compliance.
  • Managing projects from cradle-to-grave, including bidding, execution, administration, and close-out.
  • Visit customer’s offices, and projects to evaluate and assess project requirements and scopes-of-work before submitting proposal or quotes.
  • Follow up on submitted proposals and negotiate to convert open opportunities to won contracts.
  • Work collaboratively with and support Directors to deliver project scopes of work and monitor costs.
  • Integrate job site safety, company safety policy and all safety requirements into all work programs and planning activities.
  • Establish, manage and oversee client expectations / satisfaction being the internal voice of the client to ensure project deliverables satisfy client expectations.
  • Responsible for identifying changed conditions, or scope changes and work collaboratively with clients to secure additional Scope-of-Work for GEMS.
  • Coordinate with other Project Managers and Directors to ensure project requirements are delivered on-time and on-budget.
  • Maintain open communications with customers including after-hours emergency response.
  • Accountable for ensuring that all GEMS processes, policies and standard operating procedures are implemented and followed.
  • Mentoring junior staff and technicians.
  • Foster and participate in a Health & Safety culture.
  • Maintain training, qualifications and professional designation(s), as required.
  • Any other reasonable activity required by management/leadership
