Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a talented Senior Environmental Project Manager for immediate employment in California. Imagine making a positive impact in your community while working on rewarding projects in site assessment and remediation, such as CERCLA/RCRA, environmental justice, and Brownfields for clients in chemical and industrial, oil and gas, and/or local and state government.
This is a client facing role and you will be working not only with AECOM’s clients, but with a close-knit local team connected across AECOM globally to bring the best resources to your projects. In this role, you will be responsible for managing projects and AECOM staff, client and stakeholder engagement, and support of business development activities.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Manages more complex clients and environmental site assessment and remediation projects. Manages portfolio of clients with multiple projects.
  • Responsible for delivering revenues assigned from specific clients as a result of repeat business.
  • Applies advanced understanding of environmental site assessment and remediation concepts, industry knowledge, and technical capabilities.
  • Works independently with latitude to determine work priorities and receives guidance on overall project objectives.
  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments and work priorities. Uses judgment outside of defined parameters and procedures to make decisions.
  • Conveys complex or sensitive information, topics and concepts with AECOM staff, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Supervises and directs staff and/or Project Managers and provides structured guidance and training to develop team capabilities.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BS in engineering, geology, environmental science, or related field AND 6+ years of experience or a demonstrated equivalency of education and experience.
  • Successful candidates will have to pass a background check and Motor Vehicle Records check.
  • Due to the nature of the role, US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Requirements

  • California Professional Engineer or Geologist
  • 6 plus years of Project management experience in site assessment and remediation projects.
  • Experience with negotiations with clients and California environmental regulatory agencies.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER with current 8-hour Refresher certification
  • PMP Certification
