Position Title: Environmental Quality Control Inspector
Reports to: Manager, Technical Services
Department: Technical Services
POSITION SUMMARY
The Environmental Quality Control (QC) Inspector is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, project specifications, and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) protocols for environmental remediation and demolition projects. This role will support large demolitions and abatement projects, overseeing hazardous materials management, environmental monitoring, and compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements. The QC Inspector will work closely with site supervisors, project managers, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project-specific environmental protection plans and QA/QC procedures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
At times, it may be required to endure standing for long periods of time, lifting objects up to 100 lbs, performing repetitive motions, or completing physically demanding tasks during project field work.

o Ensure chain-of-custody documentation for all environmental samples collected on-site.
o Inspect waste segregation and disposal activities to ensure compliance with the Waste Management Plan (WMP) and hazardous waste handling regulations.
o Verify proper containment, labeling, and tracking of contaminated materials for off-site disposal.
o Conduct field validation of waste characterization and ensure documentation aligns with regulatory and client requirements.
o Assist with spill response and implementation of emergency environmental controls if required.
o Ensure waste manifest documentation for all waste movement on site.
o Maintain detailed daily field logs, photographs, and compliance reports.
o Compile and submit QA/QC checklists, field reports, and environmental monitoring data to the Project Manager.
o Assist in preparing regulatory reports for submission to governing bodies (e.g., PSPC, CIRNAC, ECCC).
o Document and track non-conformances, corrective actions, and lessons learned.
o Collaborate with site supervisors, subcontractors, and Indigenous partners to implement environmental best practices.
o Attend daily site meetings to report QA/QC findings and environmental compliance issues.
o Provide guidance and training to site personnel on environmental mitigation measures and quality control expectations.
o Work with the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team to integrate environmental protection measures into overall site safety protocols.
