DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS WE LOOK FOR:

  • Knowledge and experience in hazardous waste management
  • Experience interpreting, enforcing, or providing guidance on laws and regulations
  • Experience in oral communication with various audiences (such as customer service, call centers, and other public interactions)
  • Experience delivering formal training, presentations, or speaking at events
  • Experience in written communication (such as developing fact sheets, web sites, memos, letters, policies, procedures, inspection reports, etc.)
  • Experience conducting research on topics in environmental science

STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATION (SOQ) INSTRUCTIONS

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required for the hiring manager’s review. Applications submitted without an SOQ may be disqualified.
The SOQ should be no more than 2 pages in length, be clearly written and well-organized, contain no more than (five) grammatical and spelling errors, and Arial font size 12.
Your SOQ should address the following:
1. DTSC Regulatory Assistance Officers commonly work on long-term projects. It is important that you manage your projects through effective planning and deliver on discrete milestones. Please provide an example of when you have applied project management skills to a long-term project. Please include what tools you used to effectively manage your time and track progress.
