The Opportunity - Air Quality and Acoustics Specialist We are seeking an Engineer or Scientist with experience in air quality and/or acoustics, or a strong interest in developing skills across both disciplines. This role is suitable for professionals with backgrounds in environmental engineering, environmental science, air quality assessment, acoustics, noise and vibration, or related fields. Whether you have 2 years or 20 years of experience, this is a flexible role that can be shaped around your skills, interests, and career goals. About The Role As our Air Quality and Acoustics Specialist, you will deliver high‑quality air quality, odour and acoustic services across a diverse range of projects. The role will involve air, odour and noise impact assessments; dispersion and acoustic modelling; ambient air quality, odour and noise monitoring (attended and unattended); emissions and noise inventory development; and preparation of technical reports for planning approvals and regulatory compliance. You will work on projects spanning industrial, waste, mining, infrastructure, agricultural and urban development sectors, using industry‑standard monitoring equipment and modelling tools. Whilst collaborating closely with multidisciplinary technical teams, you will help clients proactively manage environmental impacts, acoustic performance and community expectations. We're looking for a Consultant with the following: Environmental Science, environmental engineering or similar qualification recognised by Engineers Australia At least two years of demonstrated experience in air quality and/or acoustic assessment Knowledge of NSW environmental legislation, government policies and Australian standards Experience in the efficient preparation, submission and management of specialist reports including liaison with consent authorities and effective resolution of environmental issues to obtain approval Current unrestricted drivers licence (motor vehicle) Candidates meeting the following desirable criteria will be highly regarded: Prior experience working in consulting Demonstrated practical experience in undertaking air dispersion modelling using NSW EPA and approved models (e.g. CALPUFF, AERMOD) and GIS mapping technologies Acoustics modelling including iNoise, CadnaR and SoundPLAN National Pollutant Inventory (NPI) reporting and/or National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) experience About the Position Position Type: Permanent - Full Time or Part Time – you decide!
