Positions at the Water Boards may be eligible for telework with in-person attendance based on the operational needs of the position and in accordance with the Executive Order (EO) 22-25.
The Central Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board has an opening for an Environmental Scientist in the Cannabis Regulatory Program. The position location is 895 Aerovista Place, Suite 101, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401.

SALARY INFORMATION – CALHR SALARY RULES ALLOW APPOINTMENT AT THE ENTRANCE RATE (CAL. CODE REGS., TIT. 2, § 599.673) OF A CLASSIFICATION. FOR CLASSES WITH ALTERNATE RANGES, PLACEMENT IS BASED ON EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE.

  • Perform water quality or aquatic habitat related site investigations;
  • Use data analysis software or computer applications (such as MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, GIS, Power BI, etc.) to analyze and present regulatory and environmental data and produce investigation reports and recommendations;
  • Communicate technical information to diverse audiences;
  • Conduct interagency coordination;
  • Assess impacts to aquatic or other environmental resources and restoration implementation.

Responsibilities

DUTIES:

Under the close supervision of the Senior Environmental Scientist, the incumbent will perform a varied and broad range of scientific, project management, regulatory compliance and enforcement, research, and field investigation assignments.
