We are seeking an Environmental Service Assistant to join our team in Barrie. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our residents, contributing to their overall well-being. Your efforts will directly support our mission of delivering high-quality care in an inclusive setting.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all areas within the facility
  • Conduct regular inspections to maintain high standards of hygiene
  • Collaborate with staff to address specific environmental needs
  • Implement cleaning protocols in accordance with health regulations
  • Assist in training staff on proper cleaning techniques
  • Assist with mock Fire Drills
  • Maintain Mechanical equipment
  • Daily building inspections
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment
  • Report and repair any maintenance issues or safety hazards
  • Promote a safe and welcoming environment for all residents
  • Qualifications
  • Previous maintenance/custodial experience preferred
  • Previous Long Term Care experience preferred
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques and products
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team
  • Excellent communication skills, including willingness to learn American Sign Language
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy environment
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing needs within the facility
  • HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical experience an asset
  • Computer skills
  • Lawn equipment experience
