EXPERIENCE

• Previous cleaning experience in a similar role (e.g. car parks, public spaces, commercial or industrial settings) is desirable but not essential. Full training can be provided for the right candidate.
• Experience working independently or with minimal supervision, particularly in roles requiring self-motivation and time management.
• Experience dealing with members of the public in a polite and helpful manner, even in a limited capacity, is considered beneficial.
• Any prior experience following health and safety procedures in a workplace setting is a plus (e.g. hazard reporting, safe waste disposal, or use of cleaning products).

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Weekend Car Park Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and presentable environment within the car park facilities during weekends. This includes carrying out regular cleaning duties such as litter picking, emptying bins, sweeping, and reporting any hazards or maintenance issues. The role is essential in ensuring that customers and visitors experience a tidy, well-maintained space that reflects the standards of the site and contributes to their overall satisfaction.
By taking a proactive approach to cleanliness and safety, the Weekend Car Park Cleaner helps to prevent accidents, deter vandalism, and promote a positive public image. The role also involves working independently, managing time effectively, and responding promptly to any urgent cleaning needs or incidents that may arise during the shift.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sweep and tidy all areas of the car park, including entrances, stairwells, and pedestrian walkways.

• Collect and dispose of litter, debris, and waste using appropriate tools and methods.
• Empty and clean waste bins and replace liners as needed.

• Identify and promptly report any hazards, damage, or maintenance issues (e.g. broken lights, spills, trip hazards) to the appropriate supervisor or facilities team.
