One California Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Environmental Services Technician, you'll keep our patient rooms and all areas of the hospital clean and sanitized. This protects everyone from potential illness or injury due to infectious diseases or other hazards.Every day you will perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, or dusting. You will also use specialized equipment and techniques to further sanitize our facility. This role requires you to learn and adhere to proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials, including bodily fluids or sharp objects. You may also refill soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, and other supplies, as well as deliver clean linens.To be successful in this role, you must be thorough and committed to safety. You truly are the most important component contributing to the safety and comfort of our patients, visitors, and staff. A well-maintained facility with compassionate staff brings comfort and peace of mind to patients, their loved ones, and all who serve here. Cleans assigned areas according to established standards and 12-step cleaning process. Sweeps, dusts, vacuums, and mops in assigned areas using automatic scrub/buffer equipment as needed. Arranges and/or moves furniture in patient and non-patient care areas according to room setup. Ensure equipment is working prior to use. Documents and reports items/equipment needing repair and hazardous conditions requiring correction. Stock supply cart for assigned areas with proper equipment needed to complete assigned shift. Job Requirements Required Requires basic education to understand and follow standard practice or oral and written instructions, able to speak, read and write English, use simple arithmetic, keep simple records, or use simple office machines. Fire Safety, within 90 Days Preferred High School Graduate or GED Previous 6 months janitorial experience, in healthcare environment.
