This role will prioritize employee and resident safety and well-being by ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, conducting regular inspections, and implementing appropriate safety measures.
• Facility Maintenance: A comprehensive understanding of building systems and maintenance protocols is essential. The candidate should possess technical expertise in areas such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and building automation to effectively oversee maintenance activities and ensure the facility’s infrastructure remains operational.
• Equipment Management: Effective management of maintenance equipment, tools, and supplies is necessary to support day-to-day operations. The candidate should have experience in inventory management, procurement, and equipment maintenance to optimize resource utilization and minimize downtime.
• Emergency Response: Following emergency response plans and procedures is essential for maintaining the safety and security of residents and staff. The ideal candidate should have an understanding in emergency preparedness, evacuation protocols, and crisis management to mitigate risks and respond effectively to emergencies.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

• Certifications: Relevant certifications or relevant experience in facility management, which can demonstrate a commitment to professional development and proficiency in facility management best practices.
• Continuing Education: Staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices through ongoing education and training is essential for maintaining expertise and enhancing job performance in a rapidly evolving field.

EXPERIENCE:

• Senior Living Experience: Previous experience working in a senior living or healthcare setting is highly desirable. The ideal candidate should have a proven history of success in a management or supervisory role, preferably within a similar environment.
• Facility Management: Demonstrated experience in facility management, including overseeing maintenance operations, managing budgets, and implementing preventative maintenance programs, is essential. The candidate should be familiar with industry-specific challenges and best practices for optimizing facility performance.
• Team Leadership: Strong leadership skills and experience in leading and developing a team of maintenance personnel are critical. The Environmental Services Manager should be capable of inspiring their team members, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence, and providing ongoing support and guidance.
• Customer Service: Exceptional customer service skills and a genuine desire to serve others are paramount. The candidate should have a proven ability to build positive relationships with residents and their families, address their concerns promptly and effectively, and ensure their satisfaction with facility services and amenities.
