Join our friendly and supportive team as an Environmental Services Night Supervisor, where you will play a key leadership role in maintaining high standards of hygiene, infection control, and safety across the hospital.
This is a 6-month full-time contract with the possibility of ongoing employment in a general cleaning or relief role at the end of the term.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
  • This role requires a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will assist in overseeing daily operations and ensuring all responsibilities are carried out effectively, efficiently, and in line with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing day-to-day leadership for a team of 12–15 staff.
  • Managing staff rostering, including sick calls and shift allocation, ensuring fair and reasonable workloads.
  • Supporting team training and compliance, including inductions and refresher programs.
  • Monitoring and maintaining hospital cleanliness across patient rooms, theatres, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.
  • Overseeing environmental services operations, including housekeeping, linen, hygiene, waste, clinical waste, and security.
  • Conducting regular audits, inspections, and quality assurance activities.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a similar role, preferably within a healthcare environment.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, while also working independently when required.
  • Strong knowledge of infection control protocols and workplace health and safety practices.
  • An understanding of general and clinical waste legislative requirements (highly regarded).
  • Experience using carpet cleaning equipment and floor maintenance machinery (highly regarded).
  • Familiarity with hard floor and carpet periodical cleaning schedules (highly regarded)
