Overview Serves as primary Housekeeping representation to patient in order to drive Hospital Consumer Assessment of Health Plans Survey (HCAHPS) outcomes. Routinely participate in HCAHP reviews and patient experience improvement activities. Maintains the cleanliness of the Health System including, but not limited to, public areas, patient rooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, bath and showers, elevators, stairways, exam rooms, laboratories, diagnostic and procedure areas, and at the exterior of entrances to enhance patient experience of Best Outcome For Every Patient Every Time. Cleans and extracts carpet and upholstery per plan and request. Assists with moving furniture, beds and approved conference room setups, as per job hazard analysis. Why UnityPoint Health? Responsibilities · Maintains high standards of cleanliness as defined by following daily and weekly program requirements and additional hospitality rounding. · Displays positive interactions with patient, family, and staff on a daily basis. · Maintains patient confidentiality (HIPAA). · Follows department and hospital safety policies. · Adheres to all hospital and department policies and procedures and Standards of Behavior · Completes the routine and/or special cleaning needs of areas assigned to work to include, but not limited to: auto scrubbing, battery operated vacuum (bovaccing), dry and wet mopping, wiping off horizontal and vertical surfaces, vacuuming, pulling trash, high dusting, edging, cleaning sinks, toilets, showers, tubs, fans, extracting carpets, cleaning stairwells, operate cardboard/trash packer. · Safely handles all waste streams according to policy/guidelines. · Notifies Lead Tech, Supervisor or HELP Desk of any repairs or maintenance needed. · Assists with meeting room set-ups. · Responds appropriately as assigned to trained emergency codes, which may include disruptive person codes. Qualifications Education: Must be at least 18 years of age. High School diploma or equivalent desirable, but not required. Experience: Previous Environmental Service (housekeeping) and strong patient care/customer service skills experience in a health care facility desirable, but not required. Primarily on the job training. Skills/Abilities:Ability to follow detailed instructions and respond to pagers. Ability to speak, hear, read and write English at a level that supports communication with patients, family and staff. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to relate to others in a caring, tactful and courteous manner in less than calm circumstances. Basic computer skills (i.e., Cornerstone, email).
