Description Job Purpose Ensure that all clean room maintenance is completed on a daily basis. In addition, all administration facility maintenance is completed as scheduled. Ensure the all storage equipment is maintained at the appropriate intervals. Also, to ensure that all equipment and supplies used throughout the tissue bank is maintained and ready for use. Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate the activities of all facility maintenance within the scope of tissue banking. 2. Responsible for the proper cleaning, disinfecting and maintenance for all equipment utilized within the tissue bank. 3. Must have a keen attention to detail. Must be accurate in record keeping. 4. Responsible for the timely turnover (cleaning and disinfection) of all clean rooms between each processing session. Additionally, responsible for the monthly terminal cleaning of production rooms. 5. Responsible for the maintenance of the floors for all areas of the tissue bank and associated recovery suites. 6. Ensure that all biohazard waste is disposed of in the appropriate manner. 7. Read and records all temperatures for storage equipment of a daily basis. 8. Ensure that all applicable storage equipment is filled as per protocol. 9. Assist in coordinating the functions donor tissue transfer from the recovery suites to the processing center. 10. Ensure that all necessary supplies are stored and retrieved from the warehouse in a timely manner. 11. Ensure proper maintenance and sterilization is completed on appropriate freeze dryers between each cycle. 12. Will be required to perform any other task or function within the department on an as-needed or emergency basis, and as assigned by Manager or Supervisor. Requirements Qualifications High school diploma and a minimum of one-year relevant experience in a related environment like custodial work in hospitals or laboratories. Excellent interpersonal skills and must demonstrate written and oral communication skills and have a track record reflecting attention to detail and organization. Working Conditions Periodic travel may be required. Some on-call and weekends may be required. Majority of the work is performed inside a cleanroom, under aseptic conditions. Cleanrooms are usually kept under cool conditions. The use of heavy machinery in enclosed areas can lead to a loud working environment. Use of industrial strength cleaners and chemicals in daily operations. Facility temperatures are maintained cool. Physical Requirements Requires extended periods of time standing up. Must be able to lift, push and pull 50 lbs. unassisted. Requires repetitive motions with minimal breaks throughout the day. Direct Reports No direct reports.
