Overview Environmental Services Worker 📍 Newark, NJ | 🕒 Full-Time | 💼 EVS | About the Role The primary purpose of the Environmental Services Worker position is to perform various tasks to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment at University Hospital. Responsibilities What You’ll Do Keeps patient and non-patient areas of the facility clean, safe and orderly condition. Cleans hospital patient rooms, baths, showers, laboratories, offices, corridors, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other areas as assigned using approved cleaners and hospital approved germicide. Strips linen from beds, washes beds and mattresses using hospital approved germicide, remakes beds after discharge. Dusts furniture and equipment, empties waste baskets, trash, recycling and medical waste containers, washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels and sills, polishes metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings. Sweeps, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors using required products and equipment. Qualifications What You’ll Bring Required: Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to carry out the duties of the position; prior experience in institutional environmental services is preferred.
