Bureau Veritas is seeking an Environmental Project Assessor to join our Environmental Services team. In this role, you’ll conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), asbestos/lead/radon surveys, and other environmental evaluations, ensuring clients have the information they need to make safe and informed real estate and investment decisions.
This position combines technical analysis, fieldwork, and regulatory knowledge—perfect for someone who thrives on variety, problem-solving, and hands-on environmental work.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in environmental site assessments, Phase I ESAs, or environmental consulting.
  • Knowledge of ASTM Phase I ESA standards, environmental regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel nationwide on a regular basis.
  • Certifications such as AHERA Asbestos Inspector, OSHA-40, or environmental field sampling credentials are a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and related environmental evaluations in accordance with ASTM standards and client-specific scopes.
  • Perform on-site inspections for asbestos, lead, radon, and other environmental hazards.
  • Research and review historical property records, environmental reports, and regulatory filings to identify past land use and potential environmental concerns.
  • Communicate with property owners, tenants, site representatives, and local regulatory agencies to verify conditions and compliance.
  • Document findings and prepare clear, accurate written reports with photos, field notes, and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Travel to client project sites across the U.S. (~50% - 75% of the time, with overnight stays as needed).
