This includes leading the development of safeguard documentation related to environmental, social, and security risks for basic infrastructure and WASH interventions under the Peace and Recovery and the African Development Bank  (AFDB) projects. The consultant will also contribute to initiatives related to peacebuilding, resilience, and durable solutions in relation for climate nexus, and support the application of a community‑based planning approach across the portfolio, including Food Security and Livelihoods interventions.    Organizational Department / Unit to which the Consultant is contributing Multiple projects, including the African Development Bank Project; Strengthening the Security–Climate Nexus in Gedaref, Sudan; SUIDAC II; KDMECC; and CAD activities implemented across the mission.    Under the overall supervision of the Deputy Chief of Mission/Head of Programmes, the consultant will work under the direct supervision of the Programme Manager for the African Development Bank (AfDP) Project for all AfDP‑related activities. All other activities not related to AfDP, including environmental sustainability and climate action components implemented across the mission, will be carried out under the supervision of the Transition and Recovery Officer/Coordinator.      
Responsibilities
The candidate will support the implementation of environmental sustainability and climate action components, leading the development of safeguard documentation for infrastructure and WASH interventions under various projects. This includes contributing to peacebuilding, resilience, and durable solutions related to the climate nexus and supporting community-based planning across the portfolio.
