The ideal candidate will possess experience conducting environmental site assessments and constraints analyses for small to large scale infrastructure and construction projects (e.g., energy, transportation, utilities). The ideal candidate would be proficient in geospatial analysis and cartography using ArcGIS, GIS, and AutoCAD Civil 3D to support site selection, impact analysis, and permitting.
EDGE, we are committed to becoming a leader and innovator in the environmental consulting industry. To achieve this vision, we are looking for ambitious leaders, creative thinkers, and lifelong learners to join our team. In return, we offer meaningful and challenging work, competitive salaries, and a comprehensive benefits package. REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in environmental siting, permitting, or environmental consulting, preferably supporting infrastructure or utility projects.
  • Proficiency in using ArcGIS, GPS technology, GPS/GNSS field tools and mobile data collection platforms (e.g., ESRI Field Maps, Collector, Survey123).
  • Knowledge of NPDES requirements, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) development, and stormwater compliance monitoring.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, grading and drainage plans, and construction schedules from an environmental compliance perspective.
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills for environmental siting reports, environmental documentation, reporting, and agency coordination.
  • Experience preparing technical memos, field logs, GIS deliverables, and regulatory submittals with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, planners, contractors, and regulatory agencies

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Land Use Planning/Urban Planning, Natural Resource Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience with environmental planning, environmental/risk assessment and environmental compliance documentation.
  • Strong skills in report writing and technical writing to document research findings clearly.
  • Familiarity with data collection methods and the ability to analyze data effectively.
  • Preferred proficiency in GIS software, particularly ArcGIS, for spatial analysis and mapping.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with electric transmission line and facility routing and citing projects using GPS and GIS field tools (e.g., ArcGIS Field Maps, Collector, Survey123) for data collection, QA/QC, and integration into desktop GIS. Field surveys include gathering information on existing site conditions, including biological, hydrological, and topographic data.
  • Conduct environmental siting evaluations for infrastructure projects, identifying potential constraints (e.g., wetlands, sensitive habitats, cultural resources, flood zones).
  • Analyze spatial data to assess potential environmental impacts and support avoidance/minimization strategies.
  • Create and maintain GIS databases to support environmental review, impact analysis, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with engineering and planning teams to integrate environmental constraints into project design and construction planning.
  • Assist with preparation of state, local, and federal permits environmental permit applications and documentation, including local grading permits, National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), Notice of Intent (NOI) and Notice of Termination (NOT) preparation.
  • Prepare siting justification reports, environmental constraints maps, and technical memos for project stakeholders and permitting agencies.
  • Support interdisciplinary teams with timely environmental information to aid in decision-making and scheduling.
