Forbes Bros Ltd. is seeking an Environmental Specialist (Full time, Permanent) to support our team on the St. Clair Transmission Line Project based out of Chatham, On.
The Environmental Specialist will work onsite at the project closely with Operations and Project Management - the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that project operational activities, undertaken or proposed by Forbes Bros Ltd. (FBL), are aligned with the project Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and protection plans, regulations, and all other relevant environmental documents and commitments. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of provincial and federal regulations, codes, permits and approvals, as well as their technical application. This position requires the individual to be on site Monday - Friday with flexibility to accommodate project hours and site schedule.

• Providing environmental support to the on-site construction and project management teams
• Developing and implementing project environmental plans to ensure that work is completed incompliance with all relevant client requirements as well as provincial and/or federal regulations
• Evaluating compliance with industry best management practices, environmental mitigation measures outlined in the EMP
• Monitoring and proactive reporting of any potential environmental issues to the environmental lead and construction manager, including recommendations and implementation strategies for the appropriate corrective actions
• Documenting daily on-site environmental inspections and maintaining a photographic log of site activities and conditions
• Training of employees and contractors on environmental awareness and aspects
• Working closely with construction crews and client environmental representatives to ensure requirements are achieved
• Perform other tasks related to this function as assigned
