RREC is currently seeking an_ Environmental Specialist _based out of either our Rocky Mountain House or Vermilion office with the option to work remotely for the right candidate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Technical Diploma or University Degree in environmental science or related discipline
  • Professional designation or eligibility with an organization such as the Alberta Institute of Agrologists
  • Excellent communication, writing, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and database entry
  • Willingness to work within a team environment
  • Highly organized and have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks

Responsibilities
  • Prepare technical reports (Phase 1 ESA, DSA, and RCA).
  • Phase 1 ESA project management, including program set-up and execution.
  • Assist project managers in various aspects of project execution.
  • Assist project team in the communication, management, and cost control associated with various programs.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with RREC clients and team members, provide mentorship to intermediate staff and work with corporate and client vendors, and other contractor personnel engaged in client projects.
  • Compile, track, review and submit RCAs for client specific reclamation programs.
  • Assist in the execution of reclamation programs or projects including cost estimates and time management, vendor management, quality management, risk management, safety management, procurement, and project integration.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and training to new hires and team members.
  • Obtain professional accreditation and good standing with the regulated professional body
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, directives, and SOP’s.
  • Build relationships within RREC to effectively develop and manage projects.
  • Remain current on industry news and best practices, and regulator updates.
