JOB SUMMARY

Come join our dynamic team of Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) professionals! Raytheon has an opportunity for an energetic, motivated, and self-directed Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Sustainability Program Specialist to join our Raytheon Central EHS team to support our ongoing sustainability and ESG efforts. The Sustainability Program Specialist will have an opportunity to lead programs at the Business level and provide support to sites across the Raytheon business to integrate requirements and drive continuous improvement in environmental sustainability programs.

QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE

  • University degree with 10 years of EHS/Sustainability experience, preferably at the site level, but capable of operating at the business level.
  • Experience leading sustainability efforts in at least 3 of the following areas: Energy efficiency, Greenhouse gas accounting or emissions reduction, Water conservation or wastewater reduction, Solid or hazardous waste minimization, Renewable energy sourcing or implementation).
  • Experience using sustainability or EHS management systems (e.g., Enablon, Sphera, or equivalent) to manage data or create reports.
  • Experience reporting or aligning with at least one of the following frameworks: (CDP, ISO 14001, GRI, or SASB).

QUALIFICATION WE PREFER

  • Experience leading or contributing to supplier sustainability initiatives or engineering-based sustainability integration.
  • Prior experience as a lead contributor to ESG reporting submissions (e.g., CDP climate disclosures).
  • Experience supporting or conducting EHS internal audits related to sustainability practices.
  • Previous role in a business-level sustainability function within a large, matrixed manufacturing or aerospace/defense organization.
  • Created and delivered formal presentations or training sessions related to sustainability for internal stakeholders.
  • Authored or co-authored sustainability policy documents, procedures, or program guidelines.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Develop and lead strategic sustainability programs that align with annual and long-term Raytheon goals in areas such as GHG emissions, water usage, energy efficiency, and waste reduction.
  • Partner with functional teams across Operations, Engineering, Facilities, and Supply Chain to embed sustainability practices into core business processes and product design.
  • Create sustainability policy content and support compliance assurance program activities for 70+ domestic and international sites.
  • Analyze enterprise sustainability performance using defined metrics and reporting tools (e.g., Enablon, Sphera); produce quarterly and annual performance summaries.
  • Lead development of training content, internal communications, and engagement activities for site-based sustainability professionals.
  • Monitor emerging ESG regulations and prepare impact summaries for leadership review.
  • Prepare and present materials to internal stakeholders, including executive-level briefings and cross-functional updates.
  • Travel ~10–20% annually, typically in clustered intervals around meetings, workshops, or audits.
  • Should be available to support occasional after-hours needs in the event of an emergency, though this is expected to be infrequent.
