Job Title: Environmental & Cultivation Technician
Location: Delavan, Illinois
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Starting Pay: $19/hour
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Environmental & Cultivation Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining optimal environmental conditions in grow rooms, supporting plant health, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and assisting with equipment maintenance. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a hands-on, agricultural environment and will uphold the highest standards for cleanliness, safety, and efficiency.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work in varying environmental conditions, including high humidity, temperature fluctuations, and exposure to chemicals/air contaminants.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in confined spaces.
- Follow strict biosecurity protocols to protect plants, products, and personnel.
- Wear appropriate PPE (Tyvek suits, respirators, gloves) as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience in HVAC, automated systems, or plant care—preferably in cannabis cultivation or a similar agricultural environment.
- General knowledge of tools, agricultural equipment, and sterile work environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to record and maintain accurate data.
CERTIFICATIONS & LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to obtain an Illinois Department of Agriculture Pesticide License.
- Must be at least 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Environmental Science or related certifications preferred, but not required.
