Responsibilities

ATG Group have an exciting opportunity for a Environmental Technician to become an integral part of a team of specialists. The role will require you to be involved in the execution of project work focusing on contaminated land investigations (mainly domestic oil spills) and subsequent remediation strategies. You will have a be involved in environmental monitoring and sampling as well as reporting and drafting remediation strategies on behalf of clients.
The role is home based and requires the successful candidate to be self-motivated and have a strong work ethic. It is essential that the individual is based in the Midlands or one hours’ distance from the Midlands area. All equipment required to carry out the role will be provided by ATG Group.
Travel will be necessary to cover the needs of the business throughout England, Wales and occasionally Scotland and a company van will be provided for this.. This may also occasionally require the candidate to stay away from home when required.
Incident response training will be provided, and other training and development opportunities will be available.

More specifically, the key roles of the appointed candidate will be to:

  • Development and adherence to specific and point of work health & safety risk assessments
  • Emergency response to environmental incidents in a variety of commercial and rural settings
  • Pro-active assessment of pollution risks to the environment and the application of a variety of in-situ techniques for containing and recovering oils or other contaminants of concern
  • Environmental monitoring and sampling activities( soil, wate, and air)
  • Liaison with client and sub-contractors in determining a most appropriate technical response to environmental incidents
  • Liaison with technical and managerial support regarding all incidents/projects
  • Effective information management and report writing
  • Waste management and Duty of Care
  • Maintenance of equipment and vehicles.
  • Stock management
