Description
MPS Group, Inc., is seeking an Environmental Technician to join our team at the Stellantis Detroit Assembly Complex-Mack located in Detroit, MI. This individual will be responsible for handling solid and hazardous waste at the plant.    Responsibilities and Job Duties: * Collect trash, recyclables, scrap metal and other waste streams throughout the plant and transports to disposal.  * Load semi-trailers and roll-off boxes for shipment to landfill, recycling center, and any other disposal streams. * Perform and document daily equipment inspection prior to use. * Assist supervisor with response to chemical spill incidents by placing adsorbents on liquids, sweeping or vacuuming solids and containerizing cleaned up materials for proper disposal. * Assist Project Manager with daily supply delivery, waste pick up and waste organization. * Document and inform Resource Manager of any contamination in plant’s recycling and waste containers. * Maintain necessary documentation of waste inventories, inspections and other activities as required. * Operate fork truck to load/unload trucks. * Operate Burden carriers. * Follow all plant- related safety guidelines. * Sort and bale recyclable material. Requirements and Qualifications: * High School Diploma or GED. * One-year experience in waste management. * Ability to pass a background check. * Ability to pass a drug test.
Responsibilities
Responsible for collecting and transporting solid and hazardous waste streams throughout the plant to proper disposal areas. Duties include operating machinery to load shipments and assisting in chemical spill response and documentation.
