Description Under supervision of the BMS Environment of Care Manager the maintenance person will perform daily Environment of Care duties. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 1. Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms, and restores dispensers with soap and paper products. 2. Trash removal, relines trash containers and cleans receptacles, if required. 3. Dusts, mops and strip and refinish floors in patient’s rooms including corridors and all surfaces. 4. Vacuums and shampoos carpeted floors including corridors. 5. Dusts high and low surfaces. 6. Provide coverage for EOC employees at other sites when needed. 7. Sanitize exam rooms and public areas during tour of duty. 8. Stocks examination’s room with items such as paper towel, hand sanitizer, soap and other related items. 9. Replace Sharp boxes. 9. Perform minor building maintenance and repairs. 11. Clean assigned refrigerators and or microwaves. 12. Stocks floor deliveries in the proper storage areas. 13. Performs all other assigned Environment of Care duties. 14. Participate Joint Commission compliance activities. 15. Drive and delivery supplies to off-site locations. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED. At least one year’s experience in environment of care. Knowledge and experience in proper floor care maintenance: stripping, waxing, and buffing Knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, sheet rocking, painting, electrical, and spackling Language Skills: Be able to read and follow directions. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Proper/good standing driving records to be insurable via BMS 3rd party insurer. Physical Demands: Physical activities including walking, standing, sitting, lifting, bending and pulling EOC worker must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10+pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision EOC worker may be exposed to virus, disease and infection from patients and specimens in working environment.
Responsibilities
The EOC Tech II will perform daily Environment of Care duties, including cleaning and sanitizing various areas, trash removal, and minor building maintenance. The role also involves stocking supplies and participating in compliance activities.
