Description
Ventia is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Fleet Manager to join our Defence Clothing System team. Reporting to the National Fleet Manager, this role is responsible for managing inventory across the national network, ensuring the availability, suitability, and compliance of clothing and PPE items in alignment with Defence requirements. This role will ideally be located in Melbourne, however consideration may be given to other locations. Key Responsibilities Manage inventory control for Combat, Non-Combat, or PPE categories. Monitor and report on inventory suitability and fitness for purpose. Collaborate with Defence stakeholders and internal teams to ensure inventory integrity. Liaise with Engineering on specifications and manage RODUMS (Report on Defective or Unsatisfactory Materials). Support forecasting and supply planning activities. Promote consistent service delivery and uphold contractual compliance. What You’ll Bring Minimum 3 years’ experience in a logistics or supply chain environment. Experience within the Defence sector (preferred). Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with Defence systems such as MILIS/ERP. Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a small team. Australian Citizenship (required for Defence Security Clearance eligibility) Special Conditions Must hold or be eligible for Defence Security Clearance (Baseline, NV1, NV2, or PV). Must pass an Australian Federal Police check and maintain a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) About the Contract Ventia has recently been appointed as the single industry partner for a transformative new contract supporting the Australian Defence Force’s clothing capability. Commencing mid-2026, this seven-year agreement (with potential extension for additional 13 years) will modernise and streamline clothing services for Defence personnel. Ventia will collaborate with expert Australian organisations to deliver end-to-end solutions including design, supply, warehousing, distribution, and retail store services, ensuring efficiency, innovation, and exceptional value for the Commonwealth.
