Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

We are seeking an experienced manager to lead a high-calibre team in conducting important research in the communications and media sector. Your team’s work will support the ACMA as a regulator, influencing senior-level decisions with evidence-based research. You will design, commission, and deliver research that raises public awareness and sparks debate. You’ll manage multiple research projects, build relationships, draw insights, and deliver high-quality reports and presentations. This role is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented leader who is motivated to produce impactful research.

THE SKILLS & CAPABILITIES YOU NEED TO PERFORM THE ROLE:

Our ideal candidate will have: > 5+ years of experience in a related field. > Proven skills in delivering consumer or market research (both quantitative and qualitative) across the full research lifecycle, from design to field research to analysis and reporting. > Strong project management skills. > Strong stakeholder management skills. > Ability to analyse complex data and communicate it in an accessible way to various audiences. > Excellent writing skills, with the ability to review team outputs to ensure they meet quality standards. > Excellent numeracy and data skills, including advanced knowledge of statistical software packages like Q/SPSS/R, and experience with Microsoft Excel and data visualisation tools like Microsoft PowerBI. > Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as media and communications, psychology, or social science, or equivalent professional experience and training.
