This is an Expression of Interest opportunity for a pipeline of work towards the end of 2025, across rail projects in Sydney.

The Lead Secondary Design Engineer will build and maintain strong relationships with the inhouse construction teams and our client to effectively deliver to client expectations. This opportunity will see you join our multi-disciplined in-house engineering team working to solve complex problems throughout the project lifecycle across all known aspects of secondary system design involvement. You will:

  • Plan and conduct professional engineering work on relevant aspects of HV Secondary Systems Strategic Planning and Conceptual Design (Protection, Comms, Data Networks etc.)
  • Provide detail design services on specialist engineering areas that include but not limited to: Protection Detailed Design (Protection Logic/Setting files, etc.), Primary Plant and Secondary Systems Equipment Specification and Procurement (Circuit Breaker, CT, VT etc.), Protection & Control Detail Schematics and Integration, Load flow, Fault level power quality and dynamic studies and analysis, Communication Systems (including Data Network using IEC 61850 protocol) design, General AC & DC System Specification and Design etc.
  • Develop specifications and interface with management on design issues
  • Through understanding of HV protection system
  • Check design work for technical accuracy and adequacy
  • Working knowledge on cable sizing software and HV modelling software
  • Assist with site commissioning
  • Meeting with customer to resolve technical issues
  • Lead & manage a team of engineers & designers as mentor and/ or Team Leader
  • Provide technical support to the Business Development, Tendering and Operations as required
