ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team to evaluate, manage and deliver robust projects of operational and strategic importance to NSWTG.
The Senior Project Officer ensures the portfolio of projects follows the delivery framework, adheres to governance requirements, and quality assurance standards. The role also ensures provision of reporting and independent assurance to the leadership team in a timely fashion.

As the Senior Project Officer, you will:

  • Collaborate with stakeholder groups to establish project foundations and monitor performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain established frameworks, processes, and templates, ensuring they are updated as needed and integrated into project delivery.
  • Support capability enhancement by onboarding new team members, gathering feedback, and coordinating sessions such as Communities of Practice, training, and refresher courses.
  • Assist with governance activities at Portfolio, Program, and Project levels, reviewing program and project health to identify risks, status trends, and potential escalations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for agency PPM tools, providing operational support, troubleshooting, and addressing user queries.
  • Demonstrate a proactive, solution-oriented approach to keep leadership and stakeholders informed about issues, presenting options for resolution or direction.
