Responsibilities

Due to the rapid growth and increased popularity of our Data Science and Innovation program, a number of casual / sessional teaching roles (subject coordinator, lecturer and tutor) are available for the program at TD School. We are seeking expressions of interest from appropriately qualified and professionally experienced candidates to teach our data science subjects on a casual basis. To be considered for the position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • A Master’s degree or above in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or Data Science;
  • Experience in teaching data science relevant subjects (proper training will be provided to get familiar with our teaching materials and methods);
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others;
  • Ability to deliver classes in different innovative delivery modes include face-to-face, hybrid, block, and online;
  • Experience delivering interactive and engaging classes
  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to communicate effectively with students and answer students queries in a timely manner;
  • Experience Co-ordinating subjects is an advantage.
  • Experience coordinating subjects and developing teaching materials is an advantage.

Pay rates will depend on the position classification and experience level.
We are looking for candidates with relevant expertise and experience to teach 8cp, 4cp and 2cp subjects in the UTS Master of Data Science and Innovation program. Expertise in in ‘36104 - Data Visualisation and Narratives’ highly sought.
