We are currently seeking expressions of interest from Environment Advisors & Senior Environment Advisors to join our Health, Safety & Environment team on a FIFO basis.

Work Location: Opportunities are FIFO from Perth, Busselton, Karratha, Port Hedland, Fitzroy Crossing or Kununurra to our Pilbara WA mine sites

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience in a relevant industry role
  • Proven knowledge of WA and Federal environmental legislation and guidelines
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with multiple levels of leadership across the organisation
  • Proficient with MS Office and general IT systems
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and prioritisation skills
  • Positive, proactive attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement and learning
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee field based environmental monitoring activities, including surface water, groundwater, dust and soil sampling
  • Oversee analysis of monitoring data against trigger level and long-term trends for reporting
  • Undertake internal compliance verifications to ensure environmental approval requirements are implemented
  • Audit and manage environmental risk using Fortescue’s risk management systems
  • Lead incident investigations and the identification and implementation of corrective actions
  • Prepare annual statutory environmental compliance reports
