Main responsibilities Design and execute medical strategies ensuring readiness for upcoming product launches — identifying unmet needs, data gaps, and critical issues to address in the Medical Plan. Lead publication strategy and scientific communication, including congress presentations, symposia, and Medical Advisory Boards, while building and maintaining relationships with Key Opinion Leaders through high-level scientific exchange. Shape field strategies in partnership with global medical directors and local counterparts to advance therapeutic awareness and scientific dialogue. Provide medical and scientific expertise to support life cycle management of established products, including benefit-risk assessments, divestment evaluations, and product pruning decisions. Manage complex medical inquiries from healthcare professionals, including off-label use cases, label change requests, and support for investigator-initiated clinical trials. Lead post-marketing studies, ensuring timely review and publication of clinical study reports and post-marketing surveillance data. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to brand strategy and execute activities aligned with company priorities, while empowering the team and fostering strong collaboration. About you Experience: Experience as a Physician in a Hospital environment along with proven track record in senior medical leadership within a pharmaceutical environment, with a background in both R&D and/or Medical Affairs — including experience as a Medical Science Liaison and Medical Manager/Medical Advisor, with demonstrated ability to lead teams and influence across functions. Clinical expertise: Solid track record in clinical trial management with a strong understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and health economics, gained through progressive leadership roles. Scientific acumen: Deep therapeutic area knowledge with experience in medical research, development, and scientific paper writing; strong analytical thinking and data interpretation skills, with the ability to set scientific direction for a team. Strategic thinking: Demonstrated ability to define and drive medical strategy at a senior level, aligning organizational priorities while leading in complex, often remote or cross-border environments. Communication skills: Exceptional written and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with Key Opinion Leaders, cross-functional teams, and global stakeholders at a senior level. Education: Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, or DNP in a medical specialty) required. Languages: Native fluency in Japanese and strong business-level fluency in English. Why choose us?
