Description
The Opportunity Abt seeks a credentialed EPA inspector covering any or multiple of the below environmental media. This consultancy is for an upcoming project in the Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance. The inspector will perform all parts of compliance evaluation inspections (CEI). Depending on interests and abilities, the consultancy may include supporting other areas of US Environmental Protection Agency, federal agencies, and state, local, or tribal governments. This consultancy is contingent upon new inspection awards from the EPA. Core Responsibilities * Coordinate, conduct, and complete CEI  * Train less experienced staff  * Work with Abt technical teams to produce high-quality technical work.    * Manage tasks independently, delegating and reviewing work for accuracy, and quality.   * Collaborate with other Abt staff to support projects with the Environmental Protection Agency, and other federal and state agencies.   What We Value  * Environmental Media experience in one of the following: * Safe Water Drinking Act (SWDA)  * Clean Water Act (CWA)  * National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)  * Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)  * Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC)  * Clean Air Act (CAA)  * Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA)  * EPA Credentialed Staff meeting the requirements stated in EPA Order 3500.1 in one or more environmental media.  * 40-hour HAZWOPER Certified.  * Be able to carry 25 pounds, climb ladders, and work on elevated platforms.  * Background in chemical or environmental engineering, chemistry, or other related technical disciplines.   * Excellent communication and writing skills.   * Familiarity with targeting potential non-compliant facilities. * Familiarity with evaluating compliance issues at complex facilities. * Familiarity with all aspects of the CEI including pre-inspection planning, on-site inspections, report drafting, and supporting follow-up requests.    * Understanding of state and federal clients, such as the Environmental Protection Agency or state environmental agencies.   * Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, including setting priorities and adapting to changes in a time-sensitive, deliverable driven workplace.     #LI-Remote
