Job Description As an Owner’s Representative, you will play a critical leadership role in overseeing EPC contractors and ensuring the successful delivery of large-scale industrial projects (R600m – R1bn). Your responsibilities will include: EPC Contractor Management (Core Focus) Acting as the primary interface between the company and EPC contractors Overseeing contractors across all project phases: engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning Ensuring delivery aligns with contractual obligations, technical specifications, budget, and schedule Monitoring contractor performance, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies Reviewing, challenging, and validating EPC deliverables, methodologies, and execution strategies Coordinating effectively between EPC contractors and key stakeholders Construction Oversight Supervising construction activities executed by EPC contractors on large-scale projects Ensuring compliance with HSE standards, quality requirements, and regulatory frameworks Conducting site inspections, audits, and progress assessments Validating construction progress, milestones, and completion criteria Supporting the resolution of technical and operational challenges during execution Engineering & Technical Governance Reviewing and approving engineering designs, studies, and technical documentation Ensuring solutions are fit-for-purpose, optimized, and aligned with project objectives Providing technical leadership and cross-disciplinary guidance Ensuring consistency across process, mechanical, electrical, and control systems Commercial & Contract Management Supporting contract administration, including variations, claims, and change orders Monitoring project costs and ensuring adherence to approved budgets Participating in commercial and contractual discussions with EPC contractors Validating payment milestones based on progress and deliverables Project Development & Tender Support Supporting EPC selection processes, including technical evaluation of bidders Contributing to feasibility studies and early-stage project structuring Assisting in defining execution strategies and contracting models Qualifications Minimum Requirements Engineering degree (Mechanical, Process, Electrical, or Project Engineering) Minimum 10 years of experience within an EPC environment Strong exposure to construction, project delivery, and contractor management Proven experience delivering large-scale industrial projects (R600m – R1bn) Prior experience in roles such as Project Manager, Construction Manager, or Engineering Manager Key Competencies & Attributes Strong multidisciplinary technical knowledge (process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & control) In-depth understanding of EPC project execution and contract structures (FIDIC or equivalent) Experience with project planning and control tools (e.g., MS Project or equivalent) Strong contractor management and stakeholder engagement skills Assertive mindset with the ability to challenge EPC contractors constructively High level of accountability with a strong focus on delivery Excellent communication and negotiation skills Ability to operate effectively at both strategic and operational levels Contract/country: Unlimited Job family: Project management
