Salary: $34.16 - $49.47 per hour, depending on qualifications Schedule: TBD JOB PURPOSE: The IT Epic Analyst will assist in the development, support, and functional roll out of the EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) system commensurate to their certification. The IT Epic Analyst assists in optimizing their workflow processes through building applications that are tailored to meet the organization’s needs. They will learn the EHR system’s capabilities and functional use and apply their knowledge of Patient Care Business workflow to assist in the implementation of a system that meets process needs. The IT Epic Analyst is the primary support contact for each application. They coordinate all issues that arise during the project for their application areas and must be very knowledgeable about the organization's policies, procedures, and business operations. Essential Job Functions: Works around Revenue Cycle management including Benefits, Claims, and Charging. Participates in all phases of the system development life cycle including development of use cases and evaluation of software solutions Research to develop, configure, and modify moderately complex information systems Creates documentation of business requirements, current and future state workflows Designs, codes/configures, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains programs/applications Coordinates all testing phases of associated applications during implementations and upgrades Identifies issues that arise in application area as well as issues that impact other application teams, and working to resolve them Develops strong relationships with end user communities, customers, and business partners, serving as primary support contact With end user communities, customers and business partners, ensures the system meets the organization’s business needs and delivers on project deliverables and timeline Maintains a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment in compliance with all Policies and Procedures including but not limited to work areas, workstations, examination rooms, hand washing, infection prevention and control etc. for this position Demonstrates an understanding of and proficiency with the application of all compliance and reporting requirements respective to Joint Commission Certification (JCC) standards Minimum Education and Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D). Three (3) years’ experience working within clinical revenue cycle management and any EHR system. Has been considered super user of the application within the work environment and provides support to their peers. Understanding of revenue cycle management or experience with billing operations Knowledge of areas that integrate with Resolute Professional Billing, including Benefits Engine, Claims, and Charge Router. If applicable, equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, and must be directly related to the functions and responsibilities of the job. Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations: Role Specific Epic Certification – Resolute Professional Billing. Level I fingerprint clearance card: current valid and in good standing or have applied for it within seven working days after beginning employment Employees in this position may be required to have reliable transportation that can meet any operational reassignments of the organization during the workday. If an employee is driving during work hours, the employee is required to possess a valid driver’s license and must be in compliance with Arizona vehicle insurance requirements. All El Rio IT Epic Analyst positions require Epic certification based on the specific role (Ambulatory, Beaker, etc.). For candidates who meet minimum qualifications but are not yet Epic certified, the candidate has 90 days from the start date to obtain the required Epic certification. One probationary extension of 30 days may be granted with approval from IT Management and Human Resources. If the employee does not receive certification for the position within this timeframe, they are ineligible to remain in the position and may seek other opportunities within the Organization for which they are qualified or may resign. Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities: Bachelor’s degree in Clinical, Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Computer System or a related field from an accredited college or university. Strong understanding of healthcare business process and technology Basic understanding of clinical workflows and terminology Healthcare IT experience in acute care or ambulatory care settings Working knowledge of IT solutions and interfacing Five (5) years’ working experience and knowledge of clinical application design, configuration, set-up, and troubleshooting.
