Description

Cedar Park Med is hiring an Epidemiologic Consultant to support the AIDS Institute’s HIV surveillance, data integration, and Ending the Epidemic (ETE) initiatives. You’ll turn complex datasets into actionable insights and help partners drive testing, linkage to care, and sustained viral suppression across.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of nine (9) semester hours of mathematics or statistics; and a minimum of two (2) years of research, evaluation, or epidemiologic experience OR a Master’s degree in public health or a related field and a minimum of one (1) year of research, evaluation or epidemiologic experience.
  • Experience working with relational databases, SQL Programming, SAS, SPSS or other statistical software.

Responsibilities
  • Support development, management, and analysis of AIDS Institute databases, including HIV surveillance and AIRS data
  • Act as liaison between surveillance staff, program teams, and external partners to coordinate Ending the Epidemic (ETE) efforts
  • Use surveillance data to identify individuals out of care and support re-engagement in HIV medical services
  • Participate in quality improvement activities focused on testing, care linkage, treatment adherence, and viral suppression
  • Assist in updating policies, manuals, and procedures to reflect current ETE practices
  • Provide training on legal mandates, reporting requirements, and effective data use
  • Help develop SMART objectives and evaluation metrics for new ETE programs
  • Conduct medical record reviews to verify HIV cases and support program compliance
  • Offer technical assistance to healthcare providers to ensure routine testing and public health law compliance
  • Support AIDS Institute staff and contractors in improving targeted HIV testing strategies
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of tools like the ETE Dashboard to track program progress
