MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Master’s degree in the field of Public Health from an accredited college or university, with a minimum of three graduate courses in Epidemiology and one graduate course in Biostatistics.
Experience: None.
Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Science classifications or Clinical Lab, Medical Scientists, or Bio Medical Lab Officer specialty codes in the health research field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following:
1. Experience analyzing data with analytical tools like SAS or R.
2. Experience/knowledge interpreting data for reports, presentations and fact sheets and communicating findings clearly.
3. Experience/knowledge applying public health and/or behavior change theories to program logic models.
4. Experience/knowledge designing qualitative research methodology and program monitoring and evaluation plans.
5. Experience working with stakeholders and providing technical assistance to partners.
6. Experience ensuring data integrity through regular checks and quality control.
7. Experience updating and maintaining data dashboards to provide actionable insights.
8. Experience compiling and writing detailed reports for state and federal requirements.

Responsibilities

The main purpose of this position is to provide data collection and analysis support to the Center. This position will be performing data collection, analyzing data using SAS or R statistical analysis software, conducting data quality checks, summarizing findings and interpreting data for both professional and lay audiences. This position will also prepare data products and visualizations, such as consumer-friendly fact sheets, data dashboards, or infographics and disseminate findings as requested to support public health efforts related to tobacco, cannabis and other health-related topics. This position may provide direct technical assistance to local health departments and other internal and external partners to support program monitoring and evaluation plans, data interpretation, and research guide development.
