Job Summary: The Epilepsy Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring coordinated and seamless care throughout patients� progress throughout the Neurology department. The Epilepsy Program Coordinator functions as a patient advocate, educator, liaison, and collaborator with Neurology patients and their caregivers. He/She will identify patients' potential and realized barriers to care and will work to attain resources to mitigate those barriers. He/She will develop relationships with Neurology providers to assist in education within the hospital, and outreach within the community. He/She will work with the leadership team to collect and report data. He/She will evaluate and initiate performance improvement projects on designated quality metrics. Works in concert with management and Medical Director to address eSafe actions, request and review patient satisfaction, and ensure that clinic operations meet or exceed quality standards. This person must organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, execute and follow through with detail orientation. The coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining detailed project work plans, projects, schedules and status reports throughout each phase of assigned projects. The ability to provide effective communication and follow through is essential. The facilitation of open communication and strong professional relationships with Medicine Service Line members as well as other physicians and hospital personnel is essential. This also includes effectively representing the Neurology Subspecialty practices with external and internal partners. The coordinator will assist Medical Directors and departments in improving relationships with other physicians and subspecialties and will assist with preparation for and facilitation of Service line and department committees. Education: Require: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Nursing or related field or an equivalent combination of education and work/management experience. Preferred: N/A Experience: Required: - Minimum 3-5 years' experience in healthcare management, or related field. - Working knowledge of physician office practices, managed care operations and insurance industry structure and products desired Preferred: At least two years' healthcare experience. Practice management and billing or coding experience. Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration Required: NA Preferred: Registered Nurse Social Worker Case Management Department Position Summary: The role of the Epilepsy Program Coordinator is to partner with the patients and their families as they journey throughout their diagnosis of their neurological disorder. This is accomplished through multi-disciplinary interaction, education, care coordination, resource allocation, and communication as identified by a needs assessment. This role must be proficient in maintaining standards for annual DNV survey and adherence to regulatory requirements. Coordinates administrative and applicable team meetings. Possesses excellent telephone skills; and communicates effectively with all types of people and personalities. Works in concert with Regional Manager, Operations Director and Medical Director to address eSafe actions, request and review patient satisfaction results, medication reconciliation and specific program related workflows. Proficient computer and Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Access) required.
