Description:

Some of the core responsibilities of the role are listed below but for a full and detailed list, please see the attached job description and person specification. - To undertake analysis of current workflow and future designs as part of process redesign; - To communicate in complicated and difficult situations and to explain medicines prescribing and administration system issues to non IM&T staff/suppliers. - To establish working relationships with the key clinicians and support staff representing the clinical areas engaged in EPR use. - Demonstrate system functionality to stakeholders and lead on User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by working with service managers to analyse and test newly defined processes using the EPR test environments.

  • To act as an interface and point of contact between pharmacy and the EPR team and to liaise with clinical pharmacy practitioners to identify how best EPR services can be utilised to meet patient needs and manage risk. - In conjunction with the EPR senior team plan the Electronic Prescribing project and subsequent phases, ensuring clinical and non-clinical areas have been evaluated. - Plan the smooth running of sub-project teams in the delivery of elements of new functionality and system testing. - Participate in the planning and delivery of workshops, demonstrations, configuration sessions and training as part of the delivery of EPR initiatives.
  • Collate and document detailed background information from clinical areas by engaging with staff and observing work patterns/processes. - Ensure the system is designed to provide an efficient way of working for prescribers and non-prescribers and data is collected and analysed to identify areas of improvement. - Support and aid the development of policies on electronic prescribing medicines administration and recording in line with the EPR team. - Be responsible for identifying areas that require development and sharing with the supplier to be able to influence the product development roadmap.
  • Design and delivers specialist training/advice on the EPR system to EPR team members, clinical and non-clinical staff and external organisations. - Provide content expertise to the organisation in relation to electronic prescribing & administration.
