We are currently offering a fantastic and rare opportunity for an Equine Specialist Racing to join our team. Reporting to the Equine Sales Lead, the purpose of this role is to effectively manage the growth of Ridley’s revenue, profit and market share within the Equine racing Channel for the NSW & QLD market predominately within the racing sector but also some Breeding/Stud B2B space as well.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE:

  • Develop and meet annual budgets
  • Develop and implement profitable growth strategies
  • Foster and encourage closer relationships with key personnel across customers and industry
  • Reviewing of claims and outstanding payments from racing customers or wholesalers
  • Manage investments within specified budget for the region and in particular Racing
  • Maintaining customer pricing and contracts
  • Develop appropriate customer contact plans to actively build engagement to develop new business within the market and racing sector
  • Formulation of strategies to differentiate Barastoc/KER and negate/combat competitive activity
  • Engagement with the field operations team where needed to inform/advise on customer status knowledge, racing industry updates and activities.

THE KEY SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE INCLUDE:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience within the Equine Racing industry channel selling feed and dealing with trainers, owners and feed managers
  • Experience in commercial acumen combined with technical aptitude
  • Proven track record of business management, networking, sales & customer management within the Equine space again with racing industry experience desirable.
  • Sound working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products.
  • Current Motor vehicle licence
  • Ability to prepare and make presentations at senior level internally and externally
  • Polished professional demeanour.
  • Confident/fast thinking
  • Ability to strategically analyse and problem solve
  • Organised, process focus for service delivery.
  • Exposure and experience in the breeding/Stud space (desirable).
