As an Equipment Associate at United Rentals, you will perform a variety of manual tasks to ensure smooth branch operation. Your primary objective will be to ensure flameless heater equipment is running optimally and reliably for the customers throughout the Kearl Lake site. In addition, you will also provide labour assistance to service technicians and other branch personnel engaged in meeting the needs of customers.
This United Rentals branch is a winterization branch located on the Kearl Oil Sands site. The seasonal position will have a 14/14 rotational shift with options for Fly in/Fly out.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Effective communication, multi-tasking and strong teamwork skills
- Diligent attention to safety
- Superior customer service skills
- Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
- Work effectively in all weather conditions and customer work environments
- Successfully meet all drug and alcohol pre-site screening requirements
This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Check equipment for damage, hours used, mileage and fuel level upon return to the branch
- Conducting daily inspections and record keeping of running conditions on the rental equipment
- Performing oil changes and other services on equipment
- Inspect rental equipment for safety decals, safety compliance, and ensure that equipment is in good working order
- Assisting other equipment associates with loading and unloading rental equipment, and prepare equipment for rental
- Checkout and demonstrate equipment for customers as well as drive a delivery truck to pick-up and drop-off equipment
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping, which includes shoveling snow and spreading sand, when required. Clean all equipment and maintain a clean work area
- Other duties assigned as needed
