Description

AT AVALON HOLOGRAPHICS, WE’RE REPLICATING REALITY! WE MOVE FAST, THINK BIG, AND PUSH BOUNDARIES TO BUILD SOMETHING GROUNDBREAKING!

We’re building the world’s most advanced holographic display, transforming how industries like medical, defense, and entertainment see and experience visual content. No headsets, no glasses, just incredibly lifelike, three-dimensional visuals.
Doing something that’s never been done before takes an exceptional team! As a fast-growing startup, we know that our people are our greatest asset, which is why we invest in you with a competitive salary with full pay transparency, employee stock options (granted by the company), and 100% employer-paid health and dental benefits. Every team member plays a key role in our success, and we ensure you’re supported, rewarded, and empowered to thrive.
We’re seeking an Equipment Engineer – Cleanroom Development to join our team! In this role, you’ll take the lead on designing, building, and commissioning custom lab equipment and infrastructure as we set up our new lab facility. This is a highly technical, hands-on position where you’ll collaborate with researchers, engineers, and vendors to bring bespoke hardware online and keep it running at peak performance.
If you love building systems from the ground up, enjoy solving complex hardware challenges, and want to shape the foundation of cutting-edge technology, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities
  • Design and build custom lab equipment, fixtures, tooling, and test systems to support prototyping and product manufacturing.

  • Develop and scale lab infrastructure in Avalon’s new microfabrication cleanroom facility, ensuring it supports current and future needs.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate technical requirements into functional hardware solutions.

  • Lead equipment assembly, installation, calibration, automation, and commissioning hands-on with mechanical and electrical systems.

  • Manage vendors for specialized parts or fabrication and coordinate external services as needed.

  • Troubleshoot and maintain fabrication equipment, ensuring stability, safety, and high uptime.

  • Draft technical documentation, including drawings, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

  • Contribute to lab layout planning and infrastructure improvements (e.g., utilities, safety systems, clean zones).
