Description

To provide clinical technical services, specifically to co ordinate cleaning, maintenance & storage of specialist pressure relief mattresses in an organised manner, liaising with wards.

Ensuring stocks of specialist mattresses are clean & available for use out of hours.

Technical
a. Provide a cleaning service in line with frequencies and standards agreed with Infection Control for specialist pressure relief mattresses and hospital beds.
b. Monitor and check all functions of beds passing through department in relation to fire evacuation sheets, mattresses and mechanics.
c. Assist in maintaining stocks of clean specialist mattresses.
d. Record data relating to individual beds to provide an auditable trail for each bed in relation to cleaning and maintenance using both paper systems and a computer stock control database.
e. Work in conjunction with Equipment Store Co-ordinator to provide overall service for both general use beds and specialist mattresses.
f. To use appropriate equipment provided to carry out allocated tasks of cleaning bed mattresses and related items. Work in conjunction with MEBS to ensure timely repairs to beds.
g. Identify faulty equipment and beds.
h. Carry out / assist in delivery of mattresses as required.
